NEM in the 2nd Euro-China workshop on Home Networks and Platforms 29 May 2006

The participation of NEM at 2nd Euro-China workshop on Home Networks and Platforms (http://www.ist-bip.org/) has been part of its commitment to promote international cooperation between NEM and researchers around the world. One of the goals of NEM vision is focussed on international cooperation: To foster the establishment of cooperation agreements and joint R&D projects with non-EU partners with a view to influence the development of globally accepted standards and specifications. In this context, NEM partners are committed to identify key stakeholders around the world with whom NEM can set up links to cooperate on: identification of research programmes, cooperate on the definition of research programmes, and promote joint projects in response to NEM Strategic Research Agenda.

The participation of NEM has been materialized through the following actions:

• NEM booth within the exhibition area of the workshop
• NEM poster within the corridor posters area of the conference
• NEM presentation within the plenary session 2 of the workshop

NEM was invited also to participate in the session Plenary 2, where Dr. Julián Seseña introduced NEM initiative and NEM cooperation opportunities with China. A message on the wishes from NEM to strength the links with Chinese counterparts in the audiovisual and home networks fields aiming at launching joint research initiatives and projects was made.
